🎶 Tonies Box 🎶
You might be reading this already knowing exactly what a Tonies Box is… or wondering what on earth am I talking about? 😅
A Tonies Box (often called a Toniebox) is a soft, screen-free audio player designed for young children. Instead of buttons or touchscreens, it works with little figurines (Tonies) that have a chip inside. Pop one on and the stories or music begin ✨
Parents love them because they’re screen-free, sturdy enough for toddlers, and easy for little ones to use independently.
We actually have four in our house 🙈 They’re brilliant for bedtime stories and as background music during wind-down time. My 5-year-old keeps his at the end of his bed and listens to it when he wakes in the morning 🥰
However… I’m seeing more and more parents come to me saying their child falls asleep to Tonies songs or stories, but their overnight sleep is really unsettled.
If this sounds familiar, my advice is to use the Tonies Box for wind-down time, not for actually falling asleep. When children fall asleep listening to a story and wake during the night without it playing, they can cry and need you to come in and put it back on.
Sleep associations matter ❤️ Small changes can make a big difference to overnight sleep.
Have you used a Tonies Box at bedtime?
