🎄Sleep over Christmas🎄

I get it! Christmas is such a busy time and for our little ones it can be very overwhelming!

You may be still trying to establish breastfeeding, travelling half way across the country and making sure you visit every relative in a short space of time.

Everything can feel ‘up in the air’ with regard to nap and sleep, but there are things you can do to help yourself and your little one over the festive period.

⭐️ Prioritise naptime – if you know your little one needs a nap, excuse yourself and take them for a walk. Get them to sleep and then return and enjoy the rest of the celebrations. Don’t push through if you know your child can’t handle it. It will only make things difficult for everyone including them!

⭐️ Travel over nap times – try and organise your journey to coincide with nap time.

⭐️ Take familiar things – if you are staying overnight, take your little one’s bedsheet, sleeping bag and comforter. Don’t take freshly washed ones. As long as they’re not dirty, take ones that still smell like home.

⭐️ Keep routines the same – follow the same routines wherever you are staying.

⭐️ Longer wind down routines – After seeing every relative, being passed around and stimulated by lots of noise, your little one will probably need slightly longer to wind down than normal.

🎄 If everything ends up going out of the window, just enjoy yourself and get back into your routine when you get home.

If you need any help, please feel free to get in touch ⭐️🎄
