🚗 Bump in the road 🚗
You’ve done the hard work — the late nights, the consistency, the gentle boundaries, the routines that have helped your little one become a great sleeper. Things are finally feeling smooth… and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it all seems to unravel.
Naps are short. Bedtime takes forever. They wake in the night when they haven’t for weeks. You start second-guessing everything — “Have we gone backwards? Did I do something wrong?”
Here’s what I remind every single one of my clients: this is just a bump in the road.
Sleep isn’t a straight line. It’s a journey that twists, dips and sometimes loops right back on itself. Even great sleepers have off days. It’s completely normal and it does not mean your progress is lost.
Babies and toddlers are constantly changing. Teething, illness, developmental leaps, travel, growth spurts, separation anxiety — all of these can temporarily throw sleep off track. But the key word here is temporarily.
When things wobble, my advice is always the same: keep going.
✔️ Stay calm and consistent — your little one will feel that stability.
✔️ Keep routines familiar — the cues they know will help them find their rhythm again.
✔️ Don’t rush to “fix” everything — one or two tough nights don’t erase all your hard work.
✔️ Offer comfort when needed — you can be responsive and consistent at the same time.
What matters most is that you keep showing up the same way. Because the foundation you’ve built doesn’t just disappear — it’s still there, waiting for your little one to lean back into when they’re ready.
So if today feels messy, remember that this is just a tiny bump on a long, beautiful journey. You’ve done this before, and you’ll get through this too. 💛
Keep going — your confidence and calm are exactly what your baby needs right now.
