🌈Baby class or nap?🌈
I am going to start by saying that getting out and going to baby and toddler groups is SO important. It’s great for your mental health, great for your child’s development and everyone needs to get out every day!
However, we have all been there. The cranky, tired baby who isn’t engaging with the toys. Or the dilemma of whether you wake them to go to the class or leave them to sleep.
Unfortunately there isn’t a clear cut answer here but these are my tips.
– Remember that a well rested baby will be happier at a baby group
– Get them to nap on the way to class, waking them up as you arrive!
– Plan classes that fit around naps. I always found a 10am class was ideal as I could guarantee a nap in the morning on the way.
At the end of the day, you need to work out what is most important and find the right balance. If going to 3 classes a day is important to you and you’re happy for sleep to fit in around the classes ‘they’ll sleep when they’re tired’ – then absolutely go for it!
If you want to still go to classes but also want to work on sleep, some classes won’t be suitable if they clash with nap times but there will always be other classes!
Bottom line – do what works for you and your baby and enjoy the classes you do go to 🌈
