😸Encouraging a cat nap😸
My youngest is 16 months old. Most days he can just do one nap but sometimes, like today, I need him to do a cat nap in the morning and therefore I encouraged one!
Why did I need him to do a cat nap?
– He woke around 6am
– We had Toddler Sense class at 9.45am.
– If I hadn’t encouraged a cat nap he may have been quite grumpy in the class.
– He would probably have fallen asleep in the car on the way home which would then have meant a very late second nap or no second nap at all meaning a tired baby come bedtime!
What did I do?
– I left for the class early
– Put white noise on in the car
– Didn’t have any toys near him which would be stimulating
– Told him it was sleepy time
– Drove continuously until asleep!
It worked! He did a quick 10 minutes in the car, I had a happy baby during the class, he stayed awake on the way home and had a 2 hour lunch nap in his cot later!
It may not always work but I set everything up in advance to give him the best possible chance of sleeping!
Sometimes we want to avoid cat naps, sometimes we want to encourage them ❤️
