💡Night Lights💡
Please believe me when I have spent 7 years and a lot of money trying to find the ‘perfect’ night light.
I have tried red lights, white lights, yellow lights, salt lamps and motion sensor lights.
Previously I have written about the power of darkness. I still firmly believe that a dark environment is the perfect environment for most children to sleep in. It helps get them into a deeper sleep, giving us longer naps and later wake up times in the morning.
But, when might you need a night light?
– Night changes
– Night feeds
– Wind-down time
– Older children feeling scared
– You seeing your way round the room/hallway!
What are my favourite night lights?
– Tommee Tippee penguin night light – we use it as part of wind down – it’s bright enough to see what you are doing but is also dimmable. I have found that many babies don’t like going from lights on to darkness, so finding this dimmable light has been a game changer! I tend to start with it light and slowly make it dimmer over time.
– Dimmable sensor night lights on Amazon – we have these on our landing. We didn’t want something on all night but we have made it so dark that we sometimes can’t see our way around 😅 The older boys can also see the way if they need to go to the toilet in the night. The fact they stay on for a short amount of time and then turn off is great! And dimmable – same reason as before! Some night lights are so bright!
