👶🏻A new sibling👶🏻

I have been there (3 times!). You have this baby or toddler sleeping really well and then bam! You fall pregnant and along comes a newborn to throw all routines up in the air!

I am writing this post as I received a question through the Q&As about how to juggle a newborn and toddler sleep!

My first tip is to stick with your toddler’s schedule and get your new baby to ‘fit in’. If you normally go out and about in the morning to let your toddler play in the park, have your new baby nap in the pram whilst out and about.

My second tip is to try and plan your baby’s midday nap to coincide with your toddler’s nap! Two children napping in the middle of the day – the dream!

My final tip is to work out which child is easiest to get to sleep. If your baby falls asleep instantly whilst feeding but your toddler needs you to read 3615 stories and cuddle them to sleep, get the baby down first. If your toddler is happy (and old enough) to sit and do some quiet drawing/playing whilst you put the baby down – that’s a winner! Alternatively, if your baby requires all the rocking and singing to fall asleep and will take a while, get your toddler down first!

As I said, I have been there with 4 boys born in 5 years! It’s a juggle but it’s totally possible 💪❤️
