You have made changes and on day 1, you see amazing results! Things are going brilliantly.

Day 2. You are feeling confident and the positive changes keep on coming. This sleep training thing is great!

Day 3. Same routine but all of a sudden they may be resisting the nap. Not settling nicely. Struggling to fall asleep at bedtime. Waking more at night.

I see this a lot!

By day 3, the novelty of the new sleep routine may have worn off, but the baby hasn’t fully adjusted yet. So you’re in the uncomfortable middle — the hardest part of change.

If you stay consistent, many families see improvements by day 4–5. The hardest night is often the one right before a breakthrough. Knowing that can make it a little easier to push through.

There isn’t much to this post except to say to keep going. Get over the day 3 hurdle and you will be onto a winner 💪⭐️
