❤️Nat’s sleep story – #4 ❤️

My final sleep journey is actually still ongoing! My youngest is currently 19 months old and still in a cot, whereas by this age his older brothers were in a bed! So we still have a journey to go on together but let’s start from the beginning with this little one.

Born in January 2024, 4th child and 4th boy, he just had to fit right in! I kept an eye on his wake windows and cues but ultimately, he has had to be woken up from naps to go on nursery and school runs, had naps whilst his brothers had swimming lessons and had to really ‘go with the flow’.

The difference between this sleep journey and his older brothers? He’s our last baby 🥹 and the thought that this will all pass and he will sleep if he wants to sleep, sleep as long as he wants to sleep, made things easier.

Breastfeeding wise, he was still feeding in the night until about 11 months! Personally, I was ok about it. Again, final baby, he will stop when he is ready, and he did just stop waking overnight one night and that was it!

In general, he has been a great sleeper. He knew the naptime and bedtime routines and now, at 19 months, he asks for ‘nap nap time’ and up we go to the bedroom!

Our only ‘blip’ was coming back from holiday in August which coincided with a lot of separation anxiety and ending breastfeeding. Whereas we had had about 13 months of being able to put him down and walk out with no tears, we had a week of staying with him holding his hand at naptime, bedtime and throughout the night. We stayed consistent, reassured him he was ok and within a week we were back to normal!

As I mentioned the other day, our sleep journey with this baby is still ongoing! We still have transition to a duvet, then a bed, potty training and dropping the nap to go!

I will keep you all updated and take you along with me, but for now, we have 4 boys who go to bed around 7.30 and wake between 6.50am and 7.30am and everyone is happy and well rested 😊

I hope you have enjoyed finding out more about my own personal sleep journey. It’s been eventful that’s for sure 😅
