🧷Clean nappy🧷

This may seem like an obvious post to many, but as a first time mum who had no idea what I was doing, I would have appreciated posts like this!

If your baby’s nappy is wet or dirty, always change it before sleep. A dirty nappy can wake your baby sooner or cause discomfort/diaper rash.

If the nappy is only slightly wet and baby is very drowsy, you can often skip the change and let them sleep, especially if you’re using a good quality overnight nappy. Disturbing them might make it harder for them to settle.

At night, many parents change the nappy during feeds rather than waking baby just for a change, unless it’s dirty or very heavy.

A good routine is to change the nappy as part of the wind-down before sleep (bath, pyjamas, feed, nappy change, cuddle, then into bed). That way, baby goes down fresh and you’re less likely to need to interrupt sleep later.
