😴Sleep makes babies happier!😴

It sounds obvious, right?

My eldest was a pretty miserable baby 🤦🏽‍♀️ Looking back he was always crying, he even did what we called ‘the silent cry’ when he would cry so much it would be silent and then scream after catching his breath. This was whilst cuddling him, holding him, rocking him, changing him! Don’t get me started on trips out in the pram or trying to get him to sit in a trolley. Nope! I had to carry him and push a pram/trolley on a daily basis.

But looking back, it was because I had no idea what I was doing and he was cat napping here there and everywhere rather than getting decent quality sleep.

When babies get the sleep they need, everything from mood to focus to learning improves. Well-rested babies cry less, smile more and can explore the world with joy!

I get so many messages from clients during the week telling me their baby has suddenly started clapping/rolling/walking and I’m a firm believer it’s because they’re getting better sleep!

Small changes, like consistent bedtime routines, a calm sleep environment and gentle soothing, can make a huge difference in how your child feels (and how you feel too!). 💛

Remember that sleep isn’t just rest…it’s the foundation for happy, healthy little humans. 🍼💖
