✈️ Travelling tips – Sharing a room ✈️

You’re off on holiday and everyone is excited! But then you remember you’re going with a baby who naps, may have a set routine or possibly fights their sleep and suddenly the impending trip feels quite daunting!

We have travelled with the boys when they have been a range of ages from 6 months and have faced challenges such as early morning flights, night flights, sharing rooms, siblings sharing rooms, day naps out and about – the whole lot!

I thought I’d put together my top tips to help you all out! We will start with sharing a room on holiday!

1. Consider where to put your little one’s cot if they aren’t used to sharing a room with you. Around a corner, behind a sofa or even in the closet or bathroom if they are big enough.

2. White noise – placing this near their cot will help block out any noise from siblings or you moving around in the night.

3. Home comforts – take things on holiday which are usually in your little one’s nursery. Their sleeping bag, comforter and any books you like to read. These will be familiar to your baby and help them transition between home and hotel room.

4. Cot cover – SnoozeShade now do a cot cover which blocks out a lot of light! I think this is genius and have one ready for our holiday! The code: NightswithNat gets you 10% off on their website! ⭐️

5. Blackout blinds – We all know that dark rooms help little ones settle so if you can take portable blackout blinds, this will help your little one settle better.

But ultimately, holidays should be a time to relax! If routine goes out of the window, it really isn’t the end of the world. Enjoy yourself and get back on top of things when you return!
