I WAS SCEPTICAL BUT I AM SO GLAD I DID IT!
Where to begin really? I seen Nat’s page shared into a mum WhatsApp group I was part of. However, I did feel very skeptical about using a sleep consultant as I kept thinking ‘surely this will stop one day?’ I gave it a follow to see if there was any useful tips as I had been in the 4m sleep regression for about 5 weeks at this point. Luca woke every 45 mins – 1 hour for the dummy to settle himself. I was exhausted and felt like a different person. I was angry, feeling desperate to go back to work just to get a break. I ended up co-sleeping once it got to 12-1am as the wake ups were too much and at least I would get a little more rest. Finally I made the choice to get in touch with Nat for support. I debated between the rescue call and 1:1 support and I am so glad I went for the 1:1 support. I knew deep down we needed to get rid of the dummy & Nat confirmed that. I feel I had pretty realistic expectations to achieve from the support – I just wanted to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time. Hopeful for a block of 4 hours sleep at a time at most. Luca has went from waking up every hour to sometimes sleeping for 11hrs before waking up at 6am. Most of the time he is up once for a feed and maybe an extra resettle here and there. It feels like night and day for us now. The days are more enjoyable and I feel more human in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last 4.5 months! Nat has made me feel confident throughout and has provided me with knowledge over the last 2 weeks on how to handle when that midday nap doesn’t go to plan or an unexpected car nap happens. I would not hesitate to contact Nat again if we were struggling!
